Greetings from Stockholm's Junibacken and it's fascinating book department! This colourful book of French artist and illustrator Charlotte Gastaut captured my attention right away with it's beautiful illustrations and joyful idea. Since Fannys fantastika resa (La Grand Voyage de Mademoiselle Prudence) is not (yet?) published in Finland I had to buy it right away to present it to my 6 year old, who after a few moments hesitation really enjoyd the book and especially it's idea of Fanny's mother nagging and nagging all day (FÖR SISTA GÅNGEN: VAR ÄR DINA SKOR?) and Fanny escaping the scene into her dreams. Like this:
The book is a fantastic mix of fantasy and everyday realism in a family with children! I love Gastauts pictures and her colourful style rich in fine details. Since my pictures don't give credit to these beautiful masterpieces, please have a look at the artists pictures at the google images.
In the blog I'll read anything once is presented another Gastauts book, Poucette (Thumbelina).
